2012: A Retrospective

Was 2012 a good year for you?
It was a year of very hard work, mainly in my business. It was better than last year which lacked sufficient interesting job-work. 2011 was when I bet everything on my company, but it wouldn't be till the last quarter of 2012 that this decision began to feel like it was paying off.

@nextdose: A Medication Reminder Made Easy

Sometime over a year ago I wrote @nextdose because I found myself struggling to remember exactly when I had taken migraine tablets or painkillers — the pain would be distracting and sometimes the effects of the headaches makes weird things happen like parallel lines converge and time become even more non-linear than usual.

Data Recovery

There are some things that a client should never see, and the process of data recovery is definitely one of them. They are stressed and worried about the potential loss of their valuable data, and the consultant would prefer to get on with the job in a pressure-free environment. Ripping apart RAID drives and connecting them up for recovery is most definitely not pretty, and only serves to heighten the tension.
