Jeff visited Manchester last night; picked up an IDE to USB adaptor; we went to the pub. Today Jeff sifted through old hard drives and dug out some old photos:

Due to FAIL circumstances I was unable to attend the Convention on Modern Liberty in Manchester yesterday. Instead I listened to the day’s events via videocast. It has not been twenty-four hours before I see the following report in the BBC:

You know how some people have those tales to tell (usually after a particularly messy night) of waking up next to somebody who, in the cold light of sobriety, really wasn’t their thing? Well, that’s never happened to me (ok, except for a vague anecdote which is far less shocking a tale than I paint it to be).

• either I’m a little fitter than I used to be or I didn’t dance enough at The Wendyhouse on Saturday: this morning I didn’t feel like I needed to be put down humanely
• how many PhDs does it take to wave a glowstick?!
• after the “oontz-oontz-oontz” in Leeds I regained my appetite for mindless trance music
